Egg Dish For a Crowd

I did as much prep work as possible today so we can have Egg Dish For a Crowd tomorrow. I plan to make Feather Biscuits tomorrow, too, and Tasty Chicken Drummies tonight for dinner. But I'm getting ahead of myself....Aunt Betty's recipe was a snap to follow:

Dice 8 slices of bread and put them in a buttered Pyrex dish. (Use a big one.)

Cover with 2 C grated cheese. (I used my leftover cheddar. It was probably 2 1/2 cups, but I've never been one to complain about too much cheese.)

Add 1 lb browned, drained hot Jimmy Dean sausage.

Cover with a blended mixture of 2 1/4 C milk, 5 eggs, mustard, S&P. (I used regular mustard again (dijon) instead of the 1 t dry called for, and it didn't blend well.)

I covered and put in the refrigerator. Tomorrow all I have to do is pour a mixture of a can of mushroom soup and 1/2 C milk on top and bake at 300 for 1/2 hour. Then mix thoroughly and bake another hour covered.

That should be plenty of time to make the biscuits.

BTW, we had more snow last night along with a windstorm. This icicle is hanging outside our front door and visible from the dining room.
