
This was a delightful bread to have on a Saturday morning. The recipe is from my cousin Susan.
Sift together dry ingredients:
Sift together dry ingredients:
- 2 cup flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 t baking powder
- 1/2 t soda
- 1/2 t salt
Mix together the wet ingredients and then add to the flour mixture:
- 3/4 cup orange juice
- 2 T melted shortening
- 1 egg
Fold in the good stuff:
- 1 cup fresh cranberries, cut in half (I used frozen and put them in whole.)
- 1 cup chopped nuts (I used walnuts.)
Pour into greased loaf pan. Bake at 350 for an hour.
This bread is beautiful and delicious.
