Our brunch today was flavors from another era, with Potatoes Romanoff, Copper Coins, and this Fruit Salad Dressing.
Aunt Martha found this recipe on a postcard sent by her Aunt Madalene to her mom (my grandma) on July 13, 1943.

- 1/4 c pineapple juice
- 1/4 c lemon juice
- 1/2 c sugar
Heat above to boiling point, then add 2 stiffly beaten eggs. Do not separate eggs. Cook until it thickens. When ready to serve add 1 cup whipped cream. Exact measurements are not necessary.
This recipe implied that there would be a fruit salad to dress. so I had chopped a few pears and peeled a couple satsuma-type fruit ahead of time.

In case you're wondering how Aunt Madalene fits into the Cross family tree, she was married to Ben Cross, who was my uncle (my dad's brother). So, she and Grandma Cross would have been sisters-in-law.
