There was an explosion in my refrigerator last night. When I opened it this morning, there was a dark scattergram pattern across the walls and door, including every egg in the egg tray. A can of Diet Coke had frozen and blown its top. Since I was already in the kitchen cleaning up, I decided to spend some time preparing food.
This recipe is from Aunt Martha. Put everything in the blender-
1 cup oil
1 can tomato soup
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup wine vinegar
1 t dry mustard (I used my whole grain.)
1/4 t worcestershire sauce
1/4 t paprika
dash tabasco (Tabasco was on my last grocery list, but I couldn't find it in my cupboard, so I either didn't buy it or it's buried behind cans and boxes of food.)
1 cup mayonnaise
1 t garlic salt
1/2 t celery salt (Speaking of salt - I have over a dozen salts - salts of the sea, red salt, black salt, regular cooking salt. And since my last trip to the grocery store, I now have garlic salt and celery salt, too.)
Blend low speed, cover on (obviously), then increase speed and blend until well mixed. Refrigerate.
This may be the special sauce recipe! It's great, and will be good to have for salad dressing, but it's more likely I'll use it if I ever need a sandwich spread or dip.
