
Brown a pound of hamburger and drain the grease. Then add 5 cups tomato juice, 4 cups water, 1 cup lentils and 1 cup each diced carrots, cabbage, celery. Season with pepper and green pepper flakes. I didn't have green pepper flakes, or even red pepper flakes, so I seasoned with chili powder. Bring to boil, then reduce to simmer for 1 1/2 hours.
