Quick Caramel Frosting


This frosting is awesome! But I'm getting ahead of myself.

Many of the cakes in the Cross Family Cookbook have a frosting or topping included as part of the recipe. This one didn't, but fortunately there are two frosting recipes tucked in the 'Cakes' section. I chose this one because I have the ingredients on hand.

4 T butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 t vanilla
6 T cream

Boil butter, cream, and brown sugar together for 1 minute. Let cool. Then stir in powdered sugar and vanilla. If desired, add nuts.
